All students will need a copy of H2O Chelsea’s “How Well is Your Well?” in order to complete this activity.
Ask students if they know where their well is? Do they know if they presently have, or have had in the past any trouble with their well water? Do they ever remember their water being tested? (10 min)
Hand everyone a copy of the booklet “How Well is Your Well?” Review the questions on Appendix 12 and preview the booklet together. (10 min)
In pairs, allow students time to respond to questions. (35 min)
Answers will be reviewed the following day.
Distribute Appendix 13, “Interview your Parents Questionnaire”. Review questions with the students. Questionnaire is to be completed that evening with parents and returned to school the next day for discussion. (5 min)
