H2O Chelsea recognizes the importance of reaching the youngest members of the community in order to generate positive and lasting environmental change. The students of today are the Chelsea property owners and community leaders of tomorrow.
Chelsea's two public schools already have a significant focus on environmental education that is delivered in a creative interdisciplinary way. For example, each year, the students in grade 5 and 6 at Chelsea Elementary School utilize an interdisciplinary curriculum to develop a theatrical presentation with an environmental theme. Students write the script and music, create the sets and costumes and produce an accompanying information booklet for the audience members. The project takes two months to realize and has always resulted in rave reviews. Congratulations on this successful initiative!
H2O Chelsea Project has received funding to work with the teachers responsible for this initiative in order to develop a package that would map out the process and associated curriculum.
